EU SUPPORT PROGRAMMES - Discover how you can take part
Through various programmes, the European Union provides financial and technical support for the development of project ideas in diverse fields – from sustainable development, innovation, education, culture, human rights, and the single market, to green and digital transitions.
Serbia currently participates in 11 EU programmes as a candidate country, which enables domestic organisations, institutions, companies, and individuals to access significant funding and cooperate with partners across Europe. However, Serbian institutions and citizens can also access numerous EU regional programmes and those provided by EU Member States.
Whether it is scientific research, digital transformation, strengthening the private sector to enter the EU single market, supporting civil society, or educational mobility – EU programmes serve as a tool for implementing projects that have a broader social impact. From now on, the platform www.eumogucnosti.rs provides information about each programme: its objectives, supported areas, and funding opportunities.
Access to the programmes is not limited only to state institutions or large systems. Participation is open to a wide range of actors: entrepreneurs, students, researchers, artists, teachers, civil society organisations, municipalities, universities, and companies – especially small and medium-sized enterprises.
The first step is to identify the programme that best matches your field of work or interest. After that, it is necessary to become familiar with the rules and deadlines, find partners (if required), and prepare a project proposal. Each programme has clearly defined criteria and detailed guidelines for applying – and a successful application can provide significant financial support and open doors to international cooperation.
Within the initiative EU Support Programmes – Serbia, concrete assistance is available to everyone interested in participating but unsure where to begin.
Through training sessions on preparing project applications, participants will gain practical knowledge on how to draft high-quality proposals, meet all administrative requirements, and increase their chances of success.
Additionally, dedicated training will be provided for National Contact Points – those responsible for specific EU programmes who can offer advice, information, and support in preparing and implementing projects. They serve as the first point of contact for all technical and content-related questions, acting as a bridge between local beneficiaries and European institutions.
